On arrival to the flying club at the appointed time, you will be introduced to your instructor. Then you will be given a headset so that you can listen to Air Traffic Control and talk to people in the aircraft. Following this, it's time to board the plane! You will be given a safety briefing and shown all relevant controls. Once airborne, control will be passed over to you, and you will fly over Newtownards and Portaferry. Your lesson will last for half an hour and you will be flying a Cessna 172SP. The club is open 7 days a week.

On purchasing this experience you will be issued with a voucher valid for 10 months, for one person. On receipt of this voucher you are free to call the club and book a lesson. When you book it is essential to inform the centre if you are over 6'4” or over 16 stone as an extra charge maybe necessary as a bigger plane maybe required. The minimum age for this experience is 14 years old. If the participant is under 18 a parent or guardian needs to join them on the day. Family and friends are welcome to come along and watch you fly and take some pictures. It is essential that you become a temporary member of the air centre on the day, it is free of charge and it ensures you are covered by the center's insurance. All lessons are subject to availability and weather conditions on the day and so clients are advised to phone the morning of the lesson to check if it is safe to fly.
